Well, I believe we are moving. Not neciessarily forward, but we are changing. Things to tend to repeat themselves, which is kinda annoying, but we need to learn from the mistakes made in the past. If people started to reliaze what is happening around them, things would start looking up. So, if things start to seem the same as before, change it.

History does not repeat. In fact you could find similar events in today's world also and we think it is a repetition of history. Even to sun rises or sun sets are not the same. Both happened on different days and give different feeling.

So, history does not repeat. Only some events may occur again and again, which may resembles such types of even in the past. But one cannot expect this will happen after a gape of some years again.

That's funny because after reading my devotions today, that thought went Through my mind. What reminded me the most was the wars of the old Testament. We hate wars today because of all the innocent men, women, and children being killed. However, the old Testament talks over and over about wars and about whole cities and more being killed; men women and children. Yes, things that happened a few years ago repeat but this has been going since the beginning. Pray and hope.

I think that no matter what spot in history you research, you'll find that people have been thinking the same way for thousands of years. When we have a problem we try to make it go away, right? Well most of the time that involves trying to destroy the source. That's why there are wars. Although we try to learn from our mistakes we just make them again. Julius Ceaser tryed to take over the world. He was stopped. Napolean tryed to take over the world. And he was stopped. Hitler tryed to take over the world and create one race. We stopped him. Saddam tryed to take over the Middle East and create one religion. We stopped him. This same thing will repeat itself for thousands of years. The details of the situation just change a little.

Yes it has always repeated itself. Maybe not so specifically, but in general. People fight meaningless wars over conflicting beliefs, resources, and most frequently money. Nations rise to power and then fall. New technologies are invented to use in warfare. These technologies are then replaced with more efficient technologies. People die, and more are born. Its all the same, nothing has changed since forever.

I know that fashion does! I am 46 and wearing the same styles I wore in the 70's! but that was 30 years ago...so what gives? Hippies Rule!

Of course it does. If you don't believe me, look at the patterns of war and fashion, for two.

Humans, although constantly (slowwwwly) evolving, are basically still not too far from the dumb apes we once were. We still continue to make the same choices and mistakes over and over.

yes it does. look at the way we dress. there are also wars that keep repeating it self. people are the same way. they also change every 10 years.

Very true. Julius Ceaser, Hitler, Alexander the great, George Bush, many more all are the same person/people

yes it does becaue we are dumb and no one will get their heads out of their butts and realize that we just did this 100 years ago!!! and you can see it more in fashon than anything i.e. Big Hair of the 80's is commiung back!!! people need to realize what is right under our noses!!!!!

That would be impossible, but people repeat history.

history often repeats itself because we often end up repeating the same actions that we've done unknowingly.
2007-11-07 20:47:18 UTC
well no...the same things dont happen every decade. history changes. but sum things do happen the same. funky.
