I'm a public speaking student, And one thing that impresses judges, (or in your case teachers) You have poems of the same theme, or the make sense together, then you take a stanza or a couple of rhyming lines and mix then up to tell i story. for each different poem you use i different voice,
for instance topic if family,
(i didn't write these poems)
family ties
are made through the years
of laughter love and tears
you would say this one in a serious voice,
next you would go to something like this:
so can i sell my sister in a yard sale?
cause all she does is cry
and this goes one, and you alternate, this one would be in a childish Voice, so you go from serious to funny. It is quite humerus if you have the right poems.
something else you could do is rap the poems, maybe get some bongo drums and dress in black like those poetry slam guys so it's a little fun. Maybe you could act them out for your class? MAke a three-d model of the course of events in your poems? perhaps a scrapbook with pictures of the feelings you are trying to get the people to feel when they read them. You could try some voice acting and make a cd for it. That's about all I got, that's not completely over-done. so good luck! I hope I helped a bit!
